The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has changed the official website it is using for its ongoing recruitment exercise which was announced on Friday, March 13.
Daily Trust reports that Sunday James who is the service's spokesman made the announcement on Saturday, March 14.
According to James, the service has changed the website for recruitment to www.immigrationrecruitment.org.ng and it is already functioning. The former portal which is no longer active is www.nisrecruitment.org.ng.
The NIS spokesman said the reason for the change was to make the website more accessible to prospective applicants.
James enlightened prospective applicants to note that the recruitment is free so as not to fall victims of fraudsters.
He also reiterated that all other information regarding the recruitment remain valid apart from the change in the portal.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Ministry of Interior approved the 2020 recruitment into the NIS.
The spokesperson of the NIS said the approval was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), under its chairman, the minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
James also disclosed that the recruitment opening is going to be on for four weeks from the date of publication.
He urged members of the public to make use of the opportunity and apply.
In another report, the Nigerian Navy on Tuesday, March 10, opened its online registration portal for the 2020 recruitment exercise.
In a statement made available to Legit.ng, Commodore Suleman Dahun, the director Naval information, revealed that the recruitment exercise will begin on Wednesday, March 11 and end on Tuesday, April 21.
Dahun instructed interested applicants to visit the website: www.joinnigeriannavy.com and apply only once as multiple application/registration will attract disqualification.
The Navy spokesman said that all applicants are to come to the designated examination centres with print-out of the filled application form alongside the following: declaration and certification by parent/guardian form, local government area certification form, police certification form and guarantor form.
